it's been forever

I know! almost two months since i posted...but...well...I have no excuses (at least good ones anyway).
It has been a crazy but great two months! Holidays of course - which were fabulous! We traveled (BBs for Thanksgiving; MeMa and Papa AND BBs for Christmas); Karis had her 6th birthday, lost her first tooth and sang her first "official" solo in one of Gamma's musicals and in big church; Dakota has grown at least two inches in the last two months and can now write her own name!
We have sold quite a few cricket toys (they made really good stocking stuffers), caught a mouse that had made a home in our pantry, and took on more work.
Jeff is now in the middle of creating a lullaby album for Shiela Walsh/Tommy Nelson so we are a little oversensitive these days to how fast the kiddos are growing up and a little sappy about letting them.
All in all a good two months! :)

chirp chirp

Have you ever had an awkward pause in a conversation where you could
have sworn you heard crickets chirping? Now you can ACTUALLY hear
crickets chirping. Check this out. theCRICKETtoy™ is for any awkward pause.

Right now, some awkward situation is probably running through your mind. And if your family is anything like mine, the upcoming holidays should provide countless opportunities for this little green guy to interject a chirp or two.

theCRICKETtoy™ was created by my hubby (and I am so proud of him!). He has several awkward videos posted here and you can buy your own cricket on his website. Matter of fact, it would make the ideal stocking stuffer for the teen in your life. Everyone knows they are full of awkward moments…

P.S. I told him I would help him get the word out, so feel free to copy and paste this entry in your blog and ask your readers to buy a toy and put this entry in their blog. I want to see just how many blogs we can get this on! I think we've got the next “pet rock” so be a part of creating a cultural phenomenon (and help me pay my mortgage :) )!

Trick or Trot

My neighbor and I have been consumed with the Trick or Trot. We ambitiously took on starting a fun run fundraiser at our girls' elementary school. Since it's the first year for it, we had to get EVERYTHING figured out. It was a lot of work but a ton of fun too. The run was during the school day on halloween...and it turned out great!!! And although we don't have the money in hand yet, the pledges taken were over DOUBLE what our goal was!!!! We are so proud AND relieved! It was super fun - but we are glad it's over!

Halloween

We had a blast this year! We have started a tradition in our culdesac. We all throw our candy in a big pot in the middle and set up tables with TONS of food - chili, sandwiches, chips, and lots of desserts! The all just hang out and take shifts taking the kids trick or treating. We have SO much fun and the kids love running around like crazy (it runs a little of the sugar off)! Gisele looked beautiful and Cruella was hilarious! We also had a cat, witch, angels, tinkerbell, a ladybug and bumblebee, a ninja and a whole star wars family (including baby yoda!).

so maybe I'm biased...

BUT...my girls are TOO cute! One of our neighbors is a fabulous photographer. We had a "portrait playdate" with a couple of our neighbors and got some great shots! Check out just a few...

If you ever need a photographer, look up jonathancampbellphotography.com - he's amazing and great to work with!

Disney on Ice

Last week D and I went to see Disney on Ice at the Sommet center. It was a blast! She loved it...her favorite of course was "Kachow" (that's Lightening McQueen) and Mater from Cars. We also got to see Ariel, Lion King friends, Tinkerbell and the fairies and Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy. She got a Kachow hat that came along with her blue cotton candy - and she was pumped! She even slept with the hat for the next couple of nights! :) K got to see the show the next night with her friend Bella (and she got to spend the night with Bella - major big girl stuff!). It was a fun night for all (including me)!
